Descriptive notes.23 cm, wingspan 36-38 cm, 65-70 g. Slightly larger than Turdus iliacus , with bill proportionately shorter. rather small and rakish thrush, with general character most like Turdus iliacusGrey to olive-brown above with obvious white supercilium, eye-ring, and throat. Upper breast grey but chest and flanks orange or buff, contrasting with white belly and vent. Sexes closely similar, no seasonal variation. HabitatBreeds in upper middle and higher latitudes of east Palearcric, from fringe of taiga in larch to dense forests of spruce and fir, especially in sheltered valleys in mixed forests and broad-leaved groves in river floodplains, on lake shores, and by marine inlets, runing from sea-level to 1500 m.Food and FeedingWide variety of invertebrates, also berries.
